Lean Enterprise & IT Director


In our Nashua office in New Hampshire (US), I provide strategic direction and deployment for the company's business improvement programmes and implement information solutions to the strategic advantage of the business.


My function was established to enhance competitive capabilities for Cobham in the North American market. Working collaboratively with the rest of the business (I'm given many opportunities to liaise with my colleagues outside the US), my team has the insight into the industry landscape and continues to implement innovative and differentiating capabilities for Cobham.


For example, we architected a Lean Enterprise improvement strategy, implemented "best in class" methods for cost reduction rallying the organisation around a common goal and driving tangible results: ICE $1.1m in 12 months. We also effected organisational integration of Lean Enterprise with IT for competitive solutions.

Product lifecycles at Cobham average about 18 months. Meeting this constant need for insightful and highly innovative products is critical for our continued success.


Our sales teams are on the front end of that that process by working closely with our customers to understand their requirements and translate them into strategic plans. Considering the importance of capturing those requirements correctly, it's truly a team effort between the sales, product management and engineering teams to get the most innovative products to market in a timely manner.


The most unique thing about my role is the customers themselves. Not only do we work in a great industry, we truly have some of the most interesting customers who are all early adopters of technology. Our customers are on the frontline of keeping us safe and defending our freedom. They treat us as partners in their missions, making the work I do with them extremely rewarding and motivating, which in turn makes coming to work every day exciting.
