It's not all work and no play though! As well as
technical, practical and business skills, it is important that you
develop as a person.
During their first and third year, all our apprentices spend a
week on an Outward Bound course in the Purbeck Hills. Activities
include orienteering, raft building and climbing, as well as
planning and presenting. The programme has been designed with a
clear focus on the Cobham competencies and values that will help
you in your future development and career progression. We will
encourage you to challenge yourself, learn about leadership and
teamwork, and equally important, have some fun!
Emphasis is on completion of the task and the processes involved
whilst utilizing team skills to the maximum. There is a 'challenge
by choice' philosophy where tutors set the challenges and each
individual chooses how far they take them and how much they
participate in them.
We also like to give something back, and all of our apprentices are
encouraged to take part in some form of Community Project.
