The Cobham Apprenticeship takes 4 years to
complete. As an employee, you will earn a wage, work alongside
experienced staff to gain job-specific skills and receive training
and development to work towards nationally recognised
qualifications. Anyone living in England, over 16 years-old and not
in full-time education can apply.
The Cobham Apprenticeship is underpinned by National
Occupational Standards (NOS) and combines both on and off the job
training at NVQ levels 2, 3 & 4.
Most training takes place on the job. The rest usually takes
place at a local college or a specialist training provider. This
off-the-job training is full time for the first year of your
apprenticeship followed by day release for a further 3
years. All the things you study will be useful in your job and help
you succeed in your future career.
The Cobham Apprenticeship framework is made up of four
parts:
-
Functional Skills - are the essential skills that everyone
needs to succeed in education and training, in work and life in
general - read more about Functional Skills
-
Knowledge - sometimes called a Technical Certificate
underpins the knowledge within the NVQ and is usually delivered by
a college or training provider
-
Occupational Competency - the National Vocational Qualification
(NVQ) achieved in the workplace - read more about
NVQ's
-
Employment Rights and Responsibilities - ensuring you are
prepared for work.
