What will the future look like?
You decide.
Ready to create the technology of tomorrow? Then you've
come to the right place. Cobham has been driving innovation for more than 75 years and
this programme has been specifically designed to develop our future
innovators - whether it's the engineering talent who can dream up
new ideas or the business leaders who can make them happen.
One programme. Two streams. Endless possibilities.
Our Graduate Development Programme (GDP) is a structured
programme lasting two to three years. It has two streams:
Functional Excellence (for engineers) and Future Business Leaders
(for non-engineers). Whichever stream you join, you'll gain maximum
exposure to our organisation through a range of rotational
placements. By the end of the programme, you'll have all the skills
and experience you need to launch a successful career with Cobham.
Given the sheer breadth and range of our activities, the future possibilities are
almost limitless.
Real flexibility. Real exposure.
Just as every graduate is different, so too is every programme.
Depending on your stream, your programme will comprise a series of
six to nine month rotations in various disciplines. These could
include engineering, programme management, strategic sourcing,
operations, business development, procurement, commercial, sales
and marketing, finance and human resources. At every stage, we'll
ensure that each rotational placement accommodates your particular
skills and interests as well as the needs of the business.
Supervision and support
Throughout the programme, you'll have regular performance and
development reviews with your assignment manager. We'll also
allocate a mentor to provide you with personal and professional
support - plus a development log for you to track all your learning
activities. And if you want to gain a relevant professional
qualification, such as Chartered status or Professional
Certifications, we'll support you in that too.
What do our current graduates think?
"I've acquired a great deal of knowledge and experience on this
programme. Not only that, I've been able to work with senior-level
people from an early stage." Peter
"This programme has opened so many doors for me. Right now, I'm
project managing the integration of a £270 million company into our
business. I doubt many other programmes would have given me that
kind of responsibility so early on." Matthew
"I've been given real responsibilities. Doing placements in
different parts of the business has also been incredibly valuable.
I have a much better understanding of the bigger picture."
Helen
"If you are looking for a routine programme that is predictable
and comfortable, then this isn't for you. If however you want
to be genuinely challenged, then you'll have an amazing time."
Michael
What are we looking for?
A first class or upper second class degree or 3.5 GPA in an
engineering or business discipline would be ideal - and if you have
some post qualification experience, then so much the better. But
even if you've studied an arts degree such as English or History,
there could still be a place for you here. For us, the most
important attributes are enthusiasm, a flexible attitude and the
drive to innovate and improve.
