innovate

Our graduates will be our next generation of innovators, pioneers and entrepreneurs.

Our Graduate Development Programme (GDP) is a structured, closely monitored, 2-3 year rotational programme designed to make that happen. It has two streams: Future Business Leaders and Mission Critical Workforce. Depending on your career aspirations and what stream you follow, your programme will comprise a series of 6 - 9 month rotations in various disciplines, including engineering, programme management, strategic sourcing, operations, business development, procurement, commercial, sales and marketing, finance and human resources.

While the duration of the programme is not set in stone, the GDP will last at least 2 - 3 years with a minimum of 4 assignments of 6 - 9 months in duration. Graduates are required to complete placements across at least two of our divisions as this increases your exposure to our technology and culture- and may involve international placements.

Throughout the programme you'll have regular performance and development reviews with your assignment manager. You'll also be assigned a mentor to help provide personal and professional support, and you'll keep a development log detailing all learning activities inside and outside of the programme. And if you want to gain a relevant professional qualification, such as Chartered status or Professional Certifications, we'll support you in that too.

After the programme you'll have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position anywhere within the business. Where you end up is really up to you: in a company as diverse as ours, you'll never be short of opportunities.

If you have a first class or upper second degree or 3.5GPA in an engineering or business discipline we want to hear from you - even if you have a few years' of work experience. Regardless of your degree focus we're looking for enthusiastic graduates who have the innovative spirit and big ideas that will help shape the future of Cobham and the communities we work in. Graduates from any degree discipline requiring the analysis and manipulation of large amounts of quantitative data are of interest to us. Besides the obvious - Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics - this could include subjects such as Geography and English.
