
In Procurement, we have the opportunity to provide Cobham with
better operating efficiencies by working with our suppliers
collectively to bring greater value to the business. We do this
directly by negotiating global deals that provide better pricing to
the business units, and by qualifying the best suppliers who can
bring value added services or programmes to help improve our
business.
For example, we negotiated a global procurement agreement with a
world class printed circuit board manufacturer that yielded a 20%
improvement in unit pricing. In addition to the improved pricing,
this supplier has an excellent record in quality and delivery
performance which has helped to improve our operating
performance.
