On the modern battlefield every soldier, vehicle, ship, aircraft
and satellite is a node in a networked environment.
Today's ground soldier may receive video, email, images and maps
from a host of sources, through a hand-held device little larger
than a mobile phone. Military aircraft, ships and vehicles field
suites of antennas and systems to communicate and navigate, detect
and defeat threats, in order to fulfil their mission and return
safely.
Cobham is a major worldwide player in this field, developing and
manufacturing critical "front end" sensor systems such as antennas,
microwave modules, radomes and communications equipment that are
the backbone of today's digital world.
Many of our products are unseen by the end user, forming part of
radar, communications and warning systems often delivered by a
major manufacturer such as BAE Systems, Boeing, Lockheed Martin or
Northrop Grumman.
In this way Cobham technology is at the heart of many of the
world's best known defence platforms, including the F-35 Joint
Strike Fighter, F-22 Raptor Stealth Fighter, Global Hawk Unmanned
Aerial Vehicle, Humvee and Stryker armoured vehicles, and US Navy
Aegis and Royal Navy Type 45 warships.
